Miracle Taylor, a junior at Shadow Ridge High School, is a center and linebacker for the varsity girls flag football team. The team is working to replicate last year’s successful season where they won the Nevada state title in the 2021-2022 school year. Taylor has played on the team since her freshman year of high school.
Reflecting on why she decided to put the jersey on, Taylor says “I started playing flag because it looked fun, so I decided to go to one of the intramurals and I loved everything about it, even though I did not know much about it. The coaches helped me through everything.” Taylor loves the environment and people around her.
Over the past three years, Taylor has developed a serious passion for flag football. Taylor came in as an inexperienced freshman, not knowing much about flag football, and now she is a highly valuable member on the team. The people that surround flag football are what has led her drive to be the best.
“My favorite thing about flag football is the flag community. It is different from some other sports in the way that no matter what team or coach everyone is always willing to help. We respect each other like we are family and the vibes are always positive.” Taylor states.

Taylor is great at what she does, proving to be an amazing athlete with an incredible future ahead of her. However, she still faces challenges like every other athlete.
Taylor states, “My biggest weakness is getting frustrated easily.”
Although she gets in her head a lot with frustrations, Taylor also attributes her mindset as a primary factor in her success as an athlete. “My biggest strength is my ability to adapt quickly especially when given instructions by my coaches.” she explains.
Though flag football can be a difficult and stressful sport at times Miracle has never let that stop her from playing and working her absolute hardest on the sport that she is so passionate about. Taylor does not have any plans for college flag football but if that is something she decides she wants to do, she could definitely pursue it with her incredible speed and super fast feet work.
